Mohr Davidow partner Hartley named presidential innovation fellow


hartleyPartner at early stage venture capital firm Mohr Davidow Ventures Scott Hartley has been appointed as a presidential innovation fellow.

The presidential innovation fellows (PIF) programme was launched by US President Barack Obama last year with the first class of fellows and a round of five projects announced in August.

Hartley was among the 43 second class fellows, which will focus on nine project over the next year. He will focus on bringing Silicon Valley innovation models to different federal agencies in Washington.

Mohr Davidow managing partner Bill Ericson said, “We applaud Scott for this impressive appointment. It’s a tribute both to his passion for improving how we advance technology and job creation, as well as the value he adds on a daily basis to entrepreneurs and those committed to innovation.”

Hartley joined Mohr Davidow in July 2011 after serving as Google’s rich media and display ads product specialist for North America and scaling two operations teams for Google in India.

Last month US industry body the National Venture Capital Association elected Mohr Davidow Ventures general partner Josh Green as chairman of its board of directors.
