Lynne Chou has joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers (KPCB) as a partner to focus on the venture capital firm’s strategy in the life sciences sector.
Prior to joining KPCB, Chou spent eight years in various roles at Abbott Vascular, where she worked on the launch of over ten interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery products in the US and internationally.
She most recently led lead the global launch of Absorb, the world’s first bioresorbable vascular scaffold.
Chou has also worked at Apax Partners with a focus on software venture capital investing and in Goldman Sachs’ mergers and acquisitions group.
Last month KPCB led the biggest healthcare technology equity investment of the year by backing a $70m Series D financing round for Practice Fusion.
Former KPCB partner Ellen Pao has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the firm, alleging that her former colleague Ajit Nazre threatened to damage her career after she refused his sexual advances.
Last month a judge rejected the firm’s motion to take the case to arbitration.
