Levine Leichtman Capital Partners has made its second significant staffing change of the year by rehiring Josh Kaufman as a managing director and bringing in Luc Sandmann as associate director.
Kaufman was previously with LLCP between 2011 and 2016, before leaving to join UK-based buyout house Inflexion Private Equity Partners.
Sandmann joins LLCP from Active Capital, an Amsterdam-based private equity firm.
The pair will be based in LLCP’s London office and will focus on structured equity investments across the UK and Northern Europe.
The latest staffing moves come just a week after the firm named Andrew Schwartz as a partner alongside a swathe of other promotions and the unveiling of its Miami office.
John O’Neill, LLCP’s head of European fund investments, said, “We are excited to continue our growth and commitment to Europe with these meaningful additions.
“Josh bolsters our senior European team with his significant investment experience and a large network across the UK and Europe.
“Luc brings a wealth of experience, including a strong network in the Benelux region. Josh and Luc will be a critical part of our continued success.”
Early last year Levine Leichtman closed its oversubscribed sixth private equity vehicle on $2.5bn, surpassing both its $2.2bn target and the $1.65bn raised for the fund’s predecessor vehicle in 2013.
Recent deals from the firm include picking up economic and statistical analysis consulting firm Resolution Economics at the start of this year through a management buyout.
Since inception LLCP has managed more than $10.8bn of institutional capital across 14 investment funds, and has invested in over 80 portfolio companies.
