Walker joined Clifford in 2000 and was responsible for some of the firm’s key client relationships including buyout majors Carlyle and Equistone.
It has been reported that it is unknown when Walker is going to take his new job, while Clifford expects to find a replacement for Walker in due course.
The hire is expected to make Latham Carlyle’s main global partner. Up to now, Clifford had been the firm’s lead adviser, having assisted it with the acquisitions of QinetiQ and RAC.
The Lawyer noted that Latham has been planning to up the size of its corporate strength in London with its senior management telling the publication in 2010 that it was increasing its focus on mergers and acquisitions in the City.
