KKR welcomes former Amazon exec as senior advisor

PE giant KKR has appointed former Amazon executive Diego Piacentini as a senior advisor.

He will bring more than 30 years of experience in TMT sector to support the buyout house’s global technology, media and telecom investments.

Prior to joining KKR, Piacentini worked at Amazon as a senior vice president of the international consumer business.

He has also held a number of roles at Apple EMEA and was a commissioner for digital transformation for the Italian government.

Piacentini is currently an executive committee member board director at Bocconi University as well as a mentor at global entrepreneurship mentoring program, Endeavor Global.

KKR co-chief operating officers Joe Bae and Scott Nuttall said in a statement, “Diego has an outstanding track record of leadership in business and government and we’re thrilled that we will be able to benefit from his expertise, particularly as it relates to the technology sector where we are deeply invested and continue to expand our activities across the U.S., Europe and Asia.”

Earlier this week, KKR reportedly appointed its executives Ashish Shastry and Hiro Hirano as co-heads of its Asia Pacific private equity business.
