Private equity giant KKR & Co has appointed Rob Salvagno as co-head of its technology growth equity business in the Americas.
Salvagno will be based in KKR’s San Francisco office and will lead alongside Jake Heller who joined the firm as co-head from Spectrum Equity last year.
Salvagno most recently served as a vice president of corporate development and Cisco Investments, where he was responsible for the company’s M&A and venture capital investments.
He has also previously held technology investment banking roles at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and PaineWebber.
“Our business has evolved significantly since we first launched our technology growth equity strategy over five years ago with a small team of five,” said KKR partner Dave Welsh.
“Since that time, the growth of our business and the number of compelling investments we’re seeing around the globe have allowed us to not only expand our team, but also our technology experience, network and geographic reach.
“With the addition of a tech industry veteran like Rob to our team, we’re excited to continue to build for the future and position ourselves well to capture the many investment opportunities we see ahead.”
KKR raised $2.2bn for the final close of its latest tech-focused growth equity fund, KKR Next Generation Technology Growth, last month.
The private equity firm has invested more than $2.7bn in technology related investments since 2014.
