Private equity major KKR has named Alexander Navab as the sole head of its private equity operations in the Americas.
Navab was previously co-head of KKR’s Americas business alongside Michael Michelson, who has stepped down from the position to return to full-time investing.
Last month, KKR said in a memo to investors that the changes would simplify its management structure and strengthen its focus on performance and innovative investing, according to Reuters.
Navab also serves as head of KKR’s media and communications industry team in the US.
Prior to joining KKR, Navab worked at James D. Wolfensohn Incorporated where he was involved in mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate finance advisory work.
He has also worked in the investment banking department of Goldman Sachs.
Earlier this month KKR agreed to buy a 33 per cent stake in the energy arm of Spanish infrastructure, water and renewable power group Acciona for €417.
