Intel adds Greylock partner, Workday CEO Bhusri to board of directors


aneel bhusri GreylockIntel has hired Greylock partner and Workday CEO Aneel Bhusri to its board of directors.

The 48-year-old has spent more than 20 years as an entrepreneur, product innovator and enterprise IT investor, having started his career at PeopleSoft in the early 1990s.

He rose to vice chairman of that company and served on the board of directors through the takeover of the business by Oracle in 2004.

He launched human resources business Workday a year later and was named CEO in 2012.

Intel director Andy Bryant said, “We are very pleased to have Aneel Bhusri as an Intel director.

“His more than 20 years’ experience in enterprise software innovation and cloud computing will increase our board’s depth in areas that are key to Intel’s business and crucial in today’s connected world.”

Earlier this month Indian digital CRM startup Vizury raised $16m in a Series C round led by Intel’s venture capital arm.

Existing investors Nokia Growth Partners and Inventus Capital Partners also participated in the round, which brought the Bangalore-based company’s fundraising total to $27m.
