Intermediate Capital Group has hired Rist Brouwer from private equity house Silverfern as a managing director in its European sub-ordinated debt and equity team.
Brouwer will be covering the Benelux markets for investment opportunities across the spectrum of sub-ordinated debt, equity and partnership capital.
He spent nine years in PE leading European transactions for Silverfern, including minority investments in the food, consumer, healthcare, leisure, real estate and fintech sectors, among others.
Benoit Durteste, CIO, CEO and head of ICG’s European investment strategy said, “ICG’s flagship European fund is seeking to deepen its reach across Europe and we are delighted to be adding the expertise of leading investment professionals like Rist.
“We are excited by the opportunities in the Benelux market and look forward to investing in and partnering with local businesses.”
ICG held a €4.5bn final close for its latest flagship European investment fund two years ago, marking a huge increase on its predecessor vehicle in the strategy.
The firm pulled in €4bn of third-party commitments for ICG Europe VII. It had hit a €3bn final close for its sixth Europe Fund three years earlier, reaching its hard cap in just seven months on the road.
