JP Morgan’s $29bn hedge fund Highbridge Capital Management has hired experienced private equity executive Jonathan Ashley as a portfolio manager in its principal strategies platform.
Ashley, who will work in the firm’s London office, previously served of Fortress’ European private equity unit.
In his new job, he will focus on publicly traded debt and other negotiated debt investments, said the FT.
The hire came not long after Highbridge appointed another private equity executive Juan Lamo de Espinosa as head of its European equities team.
In July last year Highbridge hired Scott Kapnick as its CEO to replace Glenn Dubin, who remained with the asset management firm as chairman.
Earlier in 2013, Highbridge closed its HPS Specialty Loan Fund III on more than $3bn.
