HIG hires ex Hutton Collins partner to launch European credit arm

HIG WhiteHorse, the credit arm of global mid-market buyout firm HIG Capital, has hired former Hutton Collins partner Haseeb Aziz as a managing director in its new London office.

Aziz previously worked as a partner at subordinated debt and preferred equity fund manager Hutton Collins Partners, where he was responsible for originating, structuring and monitoring investments.

His career has involved leveraged finance at Merrill Lynch, management consulting at Marakon, private debt placements at Deutsche Bank and mergers and acquisitions at Morgan Stanley.

“[Haseeb] is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable investors in the European non-bank loan origination market, and we expect him to play a leading role in helping to significantly expand HIG’s activities in this arena,” said HIG Capital co-founder and managing director Sami Mnaymneh.

HIG WhiteHorse specialises in providing debt capital to mid-market companies in Europe and the US. The firm is currently investing from funds with available capital in excess of $1.5bn.
