European private equity firm HgCapital has made 15 promotions in the wake of a profitable period since closing its seventh buyout fund in April last year.
Among them the firm has named Andrew Land, pictured, a partner in its services-focused team three years after joining from Och-Ziff Capital Management.
Land has spent the last 15 years involved with European private equity, and led HgCapital’s recent acquisitions of Zenith and Leasedrive.
Simon Cottle and Thorsten Toepfer were also promoted to director in the team, while Sebastien Briens and David Issott have been named directors in the mid-market TMT team.
The firm said Luis Quiroga has been promoted to the same role in its renewable power partners team.
HgCapital partner Nic Humphries said, “The calibre and talent of our team are central to our ability to generate consistent returns for our clients and to build great businesses.
“As well as hiring the right people we work very hard at providing an environment in which our people can progress and we congratulate all those who have been promoted in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the firm.
The experience and ability of our employees is the key to our achieving full potential as investors and delivering strong performance for our clients.”
Since closing its seventh vehicle on its £2bn hard cap HgCapital has invested more than £800m of client capital and another £250m in client co-investment across growth buyout deals in Europe.
New deals in the last twelve months include P&I, Zenith Leasedrive, Ullink and Radius.
The firm has realised £730m of proceeds over the same period at a 2.9x multiple of their original investment cost and a gross IRR of over 25 per cent.
