Genstar names Gretchen Robinson to new role targeting investor relations

Genstar Capital Management, a US mid-market private equity firm that focuses on the software, financial services, healthcare, and industrial technology industries, has hired Gretchen Robinson in a newly created role as vice president of investor relations.

Robinson joins Genstar from independent global asset manager Capital Dynamics, where she joined in 2008 and most recently served as a vice president in investment management. While at Capital Dynamics, she was responsible for commitments and relationships with 35+ leading private equity and venture capital managers, and fundraised for the firm’s most recent buyout fund and venture capital fund of funds.

Anthony Salewski, a principal at Genstar, said, “We are delighted that Gretchen has joined Genstar as an important member of our team. Her investment experience combined with her extensive relationships with leading global investors will be extremely valuable as we continue to deepen relationships with existing investors and develop new partnerships.”

Based in San Francisco, Genstar has more than $3bn of committed capital under management.

Earlier this month the firm sold portfolio company TravelClick to Thoma Bravo in a deal worth $930m.
