Anand Prasanna, the former investment director at Asia fund of funds Squadron Capital Advisors, is joining the Shanghai branch of global private equity manager Morgan Creek Capital Management as a director.
Prasanna will join Morgan Creek in December as a director on the global investment team and will cover the firm’s activities in private investments in Asia, with a particular focus on India.
Prasanna was previously a senior investment professional at Squadron Capital, the Hong Kong-based fund of funds that recently agreed to be bought out by US-based Flag Capital Management.
He has previously worked at McKinsey and Sequoia Capital in India.
Prasanna will be the eighth investment professional to join Morgan Creek’s Shanghai office.
Morgan Creek was founded in 2004 by UNC Management founder Mark Yusko and established a presence in Asia in 2007, with a focus of investing in funds in developing areas of the region.
The firm has about $7bn of assets under management.
The move comes less than a month after Flag announced it had agreed a takeover of Squadron, bringing its total assets under management to more than $6bn.
