Former PepsiCo president Compton joins Clayton, Dubilier & Rice


comptonPrivate equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice has hired former PepsiCo president John Compton as an operating advisor.

The firm noted that during Compton’s tenure as president of PepsiCo, the food and beverage group achieved productivity gains of $1bn. He has also served as Vice Chairman and President of Pepsi’s Frito-Lay North America business and CEO of PepsiCo Americas Foods.

CD&R chairman and CEO Donald Gogel said, “John is a seasoned executive with 30 years of marketing, sales, manufacturing and general management experience within all of PepsiCo’s businesses.

“He is an inspirational and results-oriented leader, well rounded in all business functions with deep experience managing complexity and consumer oriented enterprises.”

Earlier this month agreed to acquire Harsco Corporation’s infrastructure division via a joint venture with the industrial services group.
