Former Doughty Hanson executive joins CPPIB as senior principal

canada_170sqFormer co-head of private equity at Doughty Hanson Mark Corbidge has joined the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) as a senior principal.

Corbidge will work from the CPPIB London office until next year, when he is expected to move to the C$189bn pension plan’s headquarters in Canada, said Dow Jones, citing two people familiar with the situation.

Corbidge left Doughty Hanson last year after eight years with the firm as a result of a shake-up of its leadership following the death of co-founder Nigel Doughty.

Last month CPPIB launched its first Indian real estate deal by teaming with the Shapoorji Group.

Earlier in 2013, the pension fund said it expected its private investments to outperform its public portfolio in the long term as it unveiled its quarterly results, which showed better private investment returns in developed and emerging markets.
