New York-based Ff Venture Capital has reportedly hired its first engineer-in-residence by bringing on board startups expert Jason Reynolds.
Reynolds joined the firm earlier this month according to VentureWire, which said he was in the process of talking to the firm’s 60 or so portfolio companies about their most pressing technical needs.
Ff’s move comes as it looks to more than triple its assets under management by targeting $70m for its latest fundraise.
Hitting that target would see ff Rose Venture Capital Fund vastly outstrip the $27m it gathered for its last early-stage vehicle, ff Silver, in 2010.
It also collected $6m of commitments for its ff Blue vehicle in 2008, and has been investing since 1999.
The firm says ff stands for ‘founder friendly’, and tends to target early-stage web-based services companies worth less than $5m.
