Ex-Navab Capital exec said to join Blackstone growth equity unit

Blackstone Group has reportedly added former Navab Capital partner Ram Jagannath to its growth unit.

Jagannath has joined the buyout major to run the healthcare operations of the firm’s growth equity unit, according to a report published by buyouts.

Until recently, he was a partner at newly launched buyout firm Navab Capital Partners, according to his Linkedin profile.

Last month Navab Capital’s founder and former KKR executive Alex Navab died while on vacation with family, just three months after officially launching the firm.

The New York-based buyout house had been seeking $3bn for its first fund, but is now winding down, Bloomberg reported in July, citing an official statement from the firm.

Jagannath was previously a managing director at Carlyle Group for its flagship US buyout private equity strategy.

He was also an associate at Genstar Capital and an analyst at Tailwind Capital, when it was known as Thomas Weisel Capital Partners.
