Kotz, who has more than 18 years of experience in private equity, investment banking and futures, spent five years at Connecticut-based Gridiron.
He previously worked for Illinois private equity firm Altus Capital Partners and served as president and board member of the Chicago Private Equity Network.
His new employer said Kotz would be responsible for originating, structuring and managing new investment opportunities and would broaden the company’s marketing initiatives.
Gladstone parent The Gladstone Companies managed to seal two US private equity deals ahead of the end of last year through its Gladstone Capital Corporation vehicle.
The firm picked up a stake in Allen Edmonds Shoe Corp by purchasing a loan from an existing investor, and made a debt and equity investment in Ag Trucking.
GCC is one of three Gladstone Companies financing vehicles alongside Gladstone Investment Corporation and Gladstone Commercial Corporation.
