Mitch Coddington Energy Investors FundsEnergy-focused private equity firm Energy Investors Funds has promoted eight of its senior staff, with six of the group being made partners.

Existing partners Mitch Coddington, pictured, and Mark Segel were promoted to senior partner effective January 1, while the other promotions were Keith Derman, Warren MacGillivray, Andrew Pike, Cam Reese, Jose Torres-Monllor and Mark Voccola.

A statement from EIF’s managing partners said, “We’re thrilled to announce these promotions, which reflect the outstanding contributions these individuals have made to EIF over their years with the firm.

“We believe the high quality of our staff reflects the opportunity our firm sees in the current environment for power plant and power transmission deals.”

EIF closed its most recent fund, United States Power Fund IV, on $1.7bn in October 2011.

The fund has continued EIF’s strategy of investing in US power and energy generation and transmission assets with long-term off-take contracts.

The firm invests in a mix of power-generating assets and power-transmission assets, and develops new projects, including natural gas, coal, and renewable energy facilities.
