Cooper-Evans joined Electra in 2006 following a 13-year career in the buyout industry, while Wood was hired as an investment manager in 2012 following stints at GCP Capital and Silverfleet Capital.

The promotions follow the recent appointments of Bill Priestley as partner, Owen Wilson as investment director and Nicola Gray as investment manager.

Electra managing partner Hugh Mumford said, “We are delighted to announce Alex’s and Ian’s promotions.

“Both reflect the firm’s constant focus on maintaining a team of the highest calibre to deliver a compelling proposition to investors.”

Last month Electra reported record investment levels and a five per cent increase in its net asset value for the six month period to the end of March.

The UK-based firm said its level of investment for a six month period set a new record despite a competitive market.

Electra invested £250m in businesses including Hotter Shoes, Ogier Fiduciary Services and Innovia Group.
