Digital investment-focused growth firm DN Capital has hired two new venture partners for its UK and Germany operations.
MapQuest co-founder Simon Greenman, pictured, and serial entrepreneur John Helm will be charged with identifying new investment opportunities and support existing portfolio companies from its first two funds.
Former Datanomic CEO Jonathan Pell and Windelbar.de managing director Jaclyn Schnau have also been hired to the firm’s Industry Advisory Board.
DN managing partner Nenad Marovac said, “Our success to date has been based on our deep network with leading entrepreneurs and our ability to identify the most promising business ideas in our chosen industries of digital media, e-commerce, software and mobile to accelerate our portfolio companies’ development and growth internationally.
“I am delighted that Simon and John have joined to further strengthen our team and drive our proven and continued commitment to European investments and the successes it can deliver for our venture funds.”
DN Capital held a €51.5m first close for its third venture fund in August, putting it more than half way to its €100m target.
Earlier this year it exited its majority stake in London-based mobile platform Apsmart to Thomson Reuters.
The firm founded Apsmart in 2009 alongside Rahul Powar, who created the first Shazam music recognition app for the iPhone.
