Boston-based venture capital firm Broadview Ventures has strengthened its strategic advisory board with the appointments of Joseph Loscalzo and Argeris Karabelas.
Loscalzo, pictured, is the Hersey professor of the theory and practice of medicine at Harvard Medical School, chairman of the Department of Medicine, physician-in-chief at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
He has previously served on the advisory council of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and the council of councils of the National Institutes of Health.
Karabelas is a partner at New jersey-based life sciences venture capital firm Care Capital and the founder of the Novartis BioVenture Fund.
Previous to that he worked as CEO of the Novartis healthcare division and executive vice-president and head of global pharmaceuticals at SmithKline Beecham.
