Venture capital firm Artiman Ventures has added Brian Wilcove to its team as a managing director.
Wilcove has spent more than 12 years with venture firms Sofinnova Ventures and TeleSoft Partners. His investments include ConteXtream, Enovix, Guavus, KXEN, LogLogic and Tele Atlas.
Prior to focusing on investing, he co-founded Virtela, a cloud networking company that was acquired by NTT in 2013.
Artiman managing director Yatin Mundkur said, “We’re thrilled to have Brian join Artiman Ventures and become a vital contributor to our entrepreneurship team as we continue building enterprise technology companies that bring lasting value to sectors where innovation is stagnant.
“His ability to acutely evaluate and nurture complex enterprise startups is a critical asset that will help continue differentiating our investment strategy, ultimately helping bring stronger technology solutions to diverse markets.”
The firm is reportedly preparing to raise its biggest fund, which could outstrip the $175m it gathered in 2007 and $200m vehicle it raised in 2010.
Artiman’s investments include cardiovascular genomic diagnostics business CardioDX, interactive computing business zSpace and money transfer platform Yantra.
