Blackstone finance co-head departs for credit manager CIFC


exit-sign-5_sqRahul Agarwal, the former co-head of finance for Blackstone’s private equity operations, has left the global buyout giant to join Nasdaq-listed credit manager CIFC Corp.

Agarwal joined CIFC as chief financial officer on December 21 2012 having spent the last eight years at Blackstone, where he was responsible for a range of jobs including deal structuring and preparation and analysis of financial statements.

Before joining Blackstone, Agarwal held positions at Deloitte & Touche, Citigroup and Ernst & Young.

“We are committed to high transparency, clear investor reporting and strong financial controls as an essential underpinning of our business as a loan specialist asset manager,” CIFC CEO Peter Gleysteen said in a statement.

“Having Rahul as a senior colleague and the leader of these key functions is a great addition.”

CIFC is one of the world’s largest specialised asset managers of senior secured corporate loans, and boasted roughly $10.9bn of corporate loan-based products under management as of September 30 2012.
