French private equity firm Ardian has appointed Tobias Gewolker as a director in its infrastructure team.
Prior to joining Ardian, Gewolker worked at DC Advisory and Barclays Capital. He recently advised iCON Infrastructure Partners on its acquisition of Firmus Energy and to Allianz and Borealis on their €1.6bn acquisition of Net4Gas from RWE.
Ardian’s infrastructure unit currently has more than $4bn of assets under management. Its most recent infrastructure fund held a final close on €1.75bn last year and has invested €1.4bn in deals including the acquisitions of London Luton Airport and Vinci Park.
Ardian director Tobias Gewolker said, “Ardian has demonstrated an impressive track record of deal sourcing and asset management since its creation.
“We anticipate a number of interesting opportunities in the energy sector, particularly through corporate assets, and I look forward to helping the team capitalize on these.”
Earlier this month Ardian closed its latest small-cap fund on €500m.
