US private equity and alternative investment firm Apollo Global Management has named Robert Kraft, chairman and CEO of US conglomerate the Kraft Group, to the firm’s board of directors.
Kraft will also join the board’s conflicts committee.

The Kraft Group includes the New England Patriots, the New England Revolution, Gillette Stadium, Rand-Whitney Group and International Forest Products Corporation.
Kraft sits on a number of National Football League committees, and serves on the board of directors for Viacom.
Apollo’s other independent directors include Michael Ducey, former president and CEO of Compass Minerals International; Paul Fribourg, chairman and CEO of Continental Grain Company; AB Krongard, former executive director of the Central Intelligence Agency and former chairman and CEO of Alex. Brown; and Pauline Richards, COO of Armour Reinsurance Group.
Recently Marc Spilker resigned as president of Apollo and as a member of its executive committee.
