Altius Associates hires William Charlton to lead US business


charltonPrivate equity advisory and fund of funds firm Altius Associates has boosted US team with the hiring of William Charlton as a partner and head of US investments.

Charlton will join the from his current position as senior lecturer in finance at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also associate director of The Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Center for Private Equity Finance.

He has also served as managing partner at specialist consultants BH Equity Research and as managing director of fund of funds manager Context Private Equity Alpha, which he founded.

Brad Young, head of investment at Altius, said, “[Charlton’s] background and experience in the American private equity sector, and his knowledge of buyout, venture and growth capital, along with his intellectual grasp of the broader investment dynamics in private equity portfolios, make him an ideal candidate for this important role.

Altius currently advises and manages $21bn in private equity and real assets funds for clients in Europe, North America and Australia.
