Altius Associates hires special infrastructure advisor Duncan Cox


UK-headquartered private equity firm Altius Associates has named Duncan Cox as a special advisor with respect to the its infrastructure business.

He will be based in the US but will support the business globally, according to Jay Yoder, head of real assets at Altius. He said, “We are very pleased to have secured Duncan’s services given his many years’ experience in the global infrastructure sector. Increasingly our clients are seeking dedicated direct technical and operational expertise when they come to assess investments in the infrastructure sector. As a Special Advisor to the firm, Duncan will offer precisely this sort of high quality experience and knowledge.”

Cox has a distinguished track record in top level management, with over 25 years of diverse experience in major international firms involved in engineering, procurement and construction of large infrastructure projects including high rise buildings, bridges, power plants, landfills and stadiums both in the US and internationally. Previous roles include: chairman of Green Gas Americas; president and CEO of Canron Corporation; CEO of Mitsui Babcock Energy; and president of Zurn Energy Division.

Last year Altius hired former Green Gas Americas project developer and EDF analyst Reyno Norval to its global infrastructure and real assets team.

Altius Associates currently advises and manages approximately $24bn in private equity and real assets funds. Last month co-founder John Hess stepped down from the CEO role he has held since the firm’s inception, to be replaced by COO Jenny Fenton, head of investments Brad Young, and head of investor relations Dr Eric Warner.
