Elliot Royce has stepped down as co-head of European fund of funds AlpInvest Partners’ fund investments group after six years with the firm.
His resignation came three months after private equity major Carlyle bought the remaining 40 per cent stake in AlpInvest for what was reported to be around $88m in cash and shares.
At around the same time, head of AlpInvest’s new secondary investments team in Hong Kong resigned to pursue other opportunities after less than a year with the firm.
Royce said on his LinkedIn page, “After six stimulating years at AlpInvest, I am leaving to find my next opportunity.
“My particular focus is on working with a new entrant to the US market or an existing player who wants to build scale, in whatever capacity makes most sense for each of us.”
AlpInvest has €37bn of assets under management and invests across primary fund, secondaries and direct investment channels.
