Asset management major Adams Street Partners has hired Joost Mioch from BlackRock as regional head of Benelux based out of the firm’s Munich office.
Mioch joined BlackRock in 2015 and was a director in their Amsterdam office, his LinkedIn shows.
The firm said the new appointment reflects its commitment to serve the demands for a greater share of capital within the region as it had witnessed considerable growth in deal volume over the past decade.
John Kremer, EMEA head of investor relations at Adams Street, said, “Joost’s specialist experience will be valuable as we continue to grow the institutional franchise within the Benelux region, with wider support from our Munich office.”
Mioch said, “Entrepreneurial and niche private equity strategies are increasingly popular with Benelux based pension funds. Moreover, exposure to venture capital promises to add value to the region’s real economy.”
Adams Street closed Adams Street 2021 Global Fund program with $832m in committed capital last year.
It brought in former Barings managing director Jennifer Brown as partner and global co-head of consultant relations and Yohan Hill as director of ESG and responsible investing last year.
$51bn-managing Adans Street reportedly pulled in almost $1.1bn for an interim close of its new private credit fundraise in 2020.
