UK-headquartered private equity firm 3i has picked director Alejo Vidal-Quadras to take over the firm’s Spanish operations from Maite Ballester.
Vidal-Quadras will begin his new role in April according to unquote, which said Ballester was set to become chairman of 3i in Spain at that time.
The director has worked throughout Spain, France and Italy since joining the firm in 2005, and is currently part of its global healthcare team.
He has has worked on 10 private equity investments including funeral services business Memora, coffee bar chain Café & Té and Hispanic radio operator Prisa Radio.
Vidal-Quadras previously worked at Rothschild in Madrid providing M&A advisory services for companies across several sectors.
