Toronto’s Georgian Partners raises $100m for second growth equity fund

toronto night_sqToronto-based growth equity firm Georgian Partners has closed its second investment fund on $100m, according to TechCrunch.

The firm was launched in 2008 by co-founders John Berton, Justin LaFayette and Simon Chong and focuses on expansion stage deals in enterprise software, internet and information companies targeting applied analytics, cloud-based business, big data and information rights.

The firm closed its previous fund in 2010 on $50m. Investors in the most recent vehicle include Canadian and provincial government and the Northleaf Venture Catalyst Fund, which itself held a C$217.5m first closing earlier this year.
