Early-stage focused Top Tier Capital Partners has held a $441m final close for its latest fund of funds vehicle.
The firm tapped just seven LPs for the capital according to a pair of filings with the US securities regulator, and managed to outdo its $410m target.
AltAssets revealed last summer that Top Tier had pulled in more than $300m for its sixth vehicle, putting it on the home straight for the fundraise.
The final close came more than 18 months after the firm registered its first commitments to the fund.
Top Tier focuses on venture capital and growth capital funds, and also makes secondary deals and co-investments with “proven managers”.
Three months ago San Francisco-based Top Tier hired former Union Venture Corp president Jeff Watts as chief business development officer.
Watts now leads Top Tier’s investor client business activities in sales, marketing and customer service as well as taking a place on the firm’s investment team.
