Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund Temasek has launched Astrea II, a co-investment private equity vehicle.
Astrea II is currently invested in 36 private equity vehicles, said Temasek, which is the fund’s largest investor with a 36 per cent stake.
Temasek launched its first private equity co-investment fund, Astrea I, in 2006.
Head of Temasek’s enterprise development group Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara said, “Temasek continues to be an active investor in high quality private equity or PE funds globally.
“These investments have created value for us in the form of direct returns, as well as opportunities for us to make further direct investments alongside the PE fund managers.”
Last month Temasek launched its first European office in London.
The new office will support Temasek’s investment interests in Europe, Middle East and Africa, the fund said in a statement.
