Former Bain consultant Yoav Bergman has partnered with renewable energy fund manager Matthew Brown to launch alternative investment firm Tamra-Tacoma Capital Partners.
The firm, which is based in New York, was also founded by real estate professional and former investment banker Patrick Donovan, and film production, acquisition and distribution executive and finance consultant Shane Starr.
Tamra-Tacoma’s mandate is to deliver investments in renewable energy and commercial real estate, as well as filmed entertainment and digital media while outperforming traditional investor returns. Tamra-Tacoma has so far acquired Teal Orbit, a New York-based social media, digital design and development consulting agency.
Bergman said, “We demonstrate confidence in our unique strategies by investing in every structure that we market.”
Tamra-Tacoma will invest with a select group of financial institutions, funds of funds, high net-worth individuals, and private wealth managers, it said.
Within the renewables space, the firm is currently underwriting 50MW of utility-scale solar installations across Latin America as well as 75MW on wind generating capacity in the US.
Leading its green power approach is Brown, who has previously involved with Epllament Energy, Lestis Wind, Hydro & Solar and PACEhub. He said, “Market conditions readily change, as do the opportunities this change creates.”
