SSG raises $915m for Asian special situations fund


Hong Kong special situations investor SSG Capital Management has closed its latest fund on its hard cap of $915m, according to AVCJ.

The fund, which focuses across Asia, had an initial target of $800m. New York-based firm Mercury Capital Advisors acted as a placement agent for the fund

In March AltAssets reported that the firm had raised $200m towards the vehicle. SSG’s previous fund, held a final close on its $400m hard cap in November 2012 after only eight months on the road.

Founded in 2009 by former Lehman Brothers execs,,Edwin Wong, Andreas Vourloumis and Shyam Maheshwari, the firm seeks to invest in Asia-Pacific with a focus on Greater China, India and South-East Asia.
