Private equity firm Pomona Capital has raised more than $1bn for its latest secondaries fund.
Pomona Capital VIII has gathered $1.14bn from 96 investors towards its $1.3bn target, the firm revealed in a document filed with US securities regulators.
Larrain Vial Investment, UBS, KB Investment & Securities and Vantage Capital Markets serve as placement agents for the fund, the filing showed.
The firm’s secondary funds are focused on buying interests in buy-out and venture capital funds, as well as portfolios of private equity-backed companies from investors that are looking to liquidity.
The fund follows Pomona’s seventh secondary vehicle, which was closed on $1.3bn in July 2009, beating its $1bn target.
