InsurTech, digital health and entertainment investor Peate Ventures is out looking to raise up to $50m for its second fund.
The new vehicle is a huge increase on the $5m the LA-based firm filed to raise for its Buenaventura Fund in 2013.
It is unclear on what total that fund eventually closed, but Peate had pulled in at least $3m for the vehicle by September of that year, an updated filing from the time showed.
Bueneventura targeted seed and early stage companies in the West Coast region of the US, focusing on the healthcare, entertainment, real estate and technology space.
Notable investments from the firm to date include Los Angeles comic book and graphic novel publisher Boom! Studios and online healthcare portal Hixme, which went live in October 2013.
Peate Ventures is headed by founder Dan Peate, who previously developed senior housing in partnership with Beijing Construction & Engineering Group, Griffin Real Estate Management and EXIM Bank of China.
