Pantheon on track to beat target for infrastructure fund

5 Jun 2014

Global fund of funds Pantheon is approaching a final closing for its second infrastructure fund, which looks set to beat its target, Dow Jones has reported.

Pantheon Global Infrastructure Fund II is close to $1bn raised, exceeding its initial aim of $700m.

Last year the firm hired Andrea Echberg from Société Générale as partner and head of European infrastructure investments. Its infrastructure team is headed by Kathryn Leaf Wilmes, who joined Pantheon in in 2008. She was previously with GIC Special Investments, where she was responsible for both fund investments and co-investments with a specialisation in energy.

Earlier this year Orange County Employees Retirement System picked Pantheon  to manage its fund of funds programme. The pension system proposed commitments of between $50m and $100m annually to Pantheon for 2014, 2015 and 2016 vintage years.

Meanwhile, back in November AltAssets reported that the firm had raised more than $400m for its latest co-investment fund.
