Match.com founder leads ‘super angels’ in $10m Jungle Ventures fund close

Singapore-based early-stage investor Jungle Ventures has held a $10m first close for its pan-Asian “super angel” fund.

Investors include match.com founder Peng Ong, Skype vice president Dan Neary and Sony Entertainment Television co-founder Jayesh Parekh, as well as other angels and institutional funds.

Jungle Ventures was recently appointed as an incubator by the Singapore National Research Foundation Technology Incubation Scheme

The fund invests heavily in Singapore and other regional hotbeds of innovation.

Jungle Ventures founder and managing partner Amit Anand said, “We have made four to five investments every year over the last few years and look to steadily increase this in 2013 and onwards.

“We are actively collaborating with leading venture capital funds across the world to support go-to market plans for our investee companies under this programme.”

Jungle’s portfolio includes companies like DocDoc, ekstop.com, travelmob, Mobikon Technologies, Sconce Solutions, Ebus.tv and One Animation.
