Ex-Mitsui investment execs eye $150m for new biopharma fund


biotech lab clinic researchA pair of former venture partners at Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co are eyeing up to $150m for a new fund dedicated to biopharmaceutical deals.

Remiges Biopharma will be led by Taro Inaba, Mitsui’s former general manager for healthcare and cleantech investment, and ex-Mitsui Venture Partners executive Walter Olesiak.

Olesiak is currently a managing director at Connectis Ventures according to his LinkedIn profile.

Remiges is yet to pick up any commitments according to a regulatory filing.

Mitsui is a major venture capital investor in Japan and the wider Asia region, and currently does deals through its Mitsui Global Investment arm.
