Venture investor and Catamount Ventures partner James Joaquin has launched a new fund, Obvious Ventures I, according to regulatory filings.
Joaquin did not disclose how much he was looking to raise for the fund, which currently does not have any commitments.
He is raising the fund without a placement agent, the filing showed.
Joaquin left Catamount in January this year after more than two years with the firm.
He has also worked for Bridgescale Partners and Kapor Capital and
served as CEO of bookmark synchronization specialist Xmarks and Xoom & Ofoto and co-founder When.com.
While a student at Brown University, Joaquin founded Clearview Software, which was acquired by Apple.
