Private equity firm Crestview Partners is targeting $3bn for its new fund, according to a document filed with US regulators.
Crestview Partners III has set a minimum investment requirement of $50,000 and has yet to register its first commitments, the filing showed.
PAS Advisory Services, Emerald Point Capital and Magenta Capital Services are acting as placement agents for the fund.
CP III follows the firm‘s second vehicle, which raised $2.4bn in 2007.
The New York-based firm is focused on the financial services, media, healthcare and energy sectors. Its portfolio companies currently have combined revenues of $9bn and an EBITDA of $3bn.
Last month Crestview completed the acquisition of transmission and engine oil pumps supplier Stackpole International.
