Dubai-based Magog & Cie Limited is acting as a placement agent for the vehicle.
In January this year AltAssets reported that Clarus had launched its third fund, which at that time did not have any cast-iron commitments.
Since its launch in 2005 the Boston and San Francisco-based firm has raised $1.2bn across two funds and invested in more than 40 private and public companies in the biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostic sectors.
