Carlyle closes second European CLO fund on €335m

euros_lrgThe vehicle follows Carlyle’s first CLO fund, which was closed on €350 in June this year.

The Washington-based firm noted that aggregate CLO issuance in Europe this year currently stands at around €4.5bn From 14 deals.

Carlyle made its first CLO purchase in Europe when it acquired management contracts on €2.1 in CLO assets from Highland Capital Management.

Carlyle managing director and head of European structured credit Colin Atkins said, “We are pleased to have established ourselves as repeat issuer in the European CLO market and intend to be a continued presence as we are with our US CLO business.”

The firm’s structured credit and CLO business currently has $17.4bn under management including $6.48bn in Europe.
