Carlyle fund valuations rise 5% in second quarter


washingtonPrivate equity firm Carlyle reported that its carry fund valuations climbed five per cent in the second quarter of this year, taking the increase in its portfolio value for the past 12 months to 20 per cent.

It noted that the MSCI All Country World Index2 rose four per cent in the quarter to end June and has climbed 21 per cent over the past year.

The Washington, DC-based firm’s private equity and buyout fund valuations rose five per cent during the quarter, while the value of its growth capital, real estate and energy funds increased 13 per cent, four per cent and two per cent, respectively.

Earlier this month AltAssets reported that Carlyle had bagged more than €900m for its latest European vehicle, which is targeting €3bn.

Carlyle Europe Partners IV has raised $1.23bn (€909.6m) from 77 LPs, regulatory filings showed.

Earlier this yearit was reported that the fund had raised €500m and was expecting to hold a third close of between €500m and €1bn.
