Canada’s Waterton raises over $1bn for Precious Metals fund


mining_lrgWaterton Global Resource Management, a Toronto-based private investment firm specialising in the metals and mining sector, has closed its Waterton Global Precious Metals Fund II fund on over $1bn.

The fund, which focuses on production and advanced development assets in politically stable jurisdictions, had a target of $750m. The fund will target investments of between $10m and $250m.

Waterton Global launched in 2009, with its $200m Waterton Global Value LP I fund closing in the following year.

The firm invests in projects through joint ventures, partnerships, acquisitions or structured financings.
