13 Mar 2014

glasses-learning-education_sqAustralian education technology startup Smart Sparrow has picked up $10m of funding led by London-based Yellow Brick Capital following it setting up in San Francisco.

Yellow Brick joins existing investors OneVentures and Uniseed in helping Smart Sparrow fuel its expansion into the US.

The company provides a platform for professors and academics to create course content for online teaching.

Yellow Brick’s Johnathan Kol-Bar said, “If creating such adaptive learning experiences is expensive, the market is going to be limited.

“Smart Sparrow’s platform simplifies and streamlines the development process.

“This is a classic disruptive innovation that opens up an untapped market by taking a solution directly to professors, themselves.

“The company is showing fantastic traction and the growth potential in the US is very exciting.”
