The San Francisco-based startup also plans to increase its investment in research and development.
Weebly said that one in three individuals in the US visit a Weebly-made site every month. Its network of sites currently has more than 175m unique visitors, half of which are based outside of the US.
Sequoia partner Roelof Botha said, “With a killer product, fresh thinking and die-hard customers, Weebly is quietly building a huge business.
“This funding will help them cement their leadership and make it easy for millions more people around the world to create high-quality sites.”
Earlier this month Sequoia-backed Chinese online retailer Jumei filed to raise $400m in an IPO.
